Coronado is a city in San Diego and is also one of the most expensive places to live in the United States. Coronado is located on a peninsula, roughly 5 miles from downtown San Diego. Coronado Island is connected to the mainland via a narrow neck called the Silver Strand. The San Diego-Coronado Bridge was opened in 1969 and this allowed for faster travel between the cities.
